Crowns, Bridges & Dental Implants

Dental Implants is an advanced treatment to restore a missing tooth. This is the closest you can get to healthy and natural teeth which can support dentures too. Our team of proficient dentists is skilled to restore the lost tooth, multiple teeth, or all of the teeth.

Dental Crowns:
Purpose: Dental crowns are used to cover and protect a damaged or weakened tooth. They restore the tooth’s shape, size, strength, and appearance.
Materials: Crowns can be made from various materials, including metal alloys, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), all-ceramic, and all-metal.
Procedure: The dentist reshapes the tooth to accommodate the crown, takes impressions, and then places a temporary crown while the permanent one is fabricated in a dental laboratory. The permanent crown is later cemented onto the prepared tooth.

Dental Bridges:
Purpose: Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth by spanning the gap between adjacent teeth. They consist of crowns on the adjacent teeth (abutments) with a false tooth (pontic) in between.
Types: Traditional bridges are anchored to adjacent natural teeth, while implant-supported bridges use dental implants as support.
Procedure: For traditional bridges, the adjacent teeth are prepared for crowns, impressions are taken, and the bridge is then cemented in place. Implant-supported bridges involve the placement of dental implants followed by the attachment of the bridge to the implants.

Dental Implants:
Purpose: Dental implants are a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth. They consist of a titanium implant that is surgically placed into the jawbone, serving as an artificial tooth root, and a crown attached to the implant.
Procedure: The implant is surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone through a process called osseointegration. After the healing period, an abutment is attached to the implant, and a custom-made crown is placed on the abutment.
Advantages: Dental implants offer stability, durability, and a natural appearance. They also help preserve jawbone health by preventing bone loss associated with missing teeth.
The choice between crowns, bridges, and dental implants depends on factors such as the extent of tooth damage, the number of missing teeth, and the patient’s overall oral health. It’s important to consult with a dentist to determine the most suitable option for an individual’s specific needs.
